Chandan Ceramics

The shop is called Chandan Ceramics and we’ve been at Plot No-12 for some time. It’s on the ground floor of Jaydeep Tower. Being in Paldi means things are always moving fast. One thing you notice right away is how close we are to the Shreyas Railway Crossing. You can hear the trains passing by all day long, which took some getting used to. People coming by usually mention the crossing when they call for directions. We have our items laid out inside, mostly ceramics of different types. It’s not some polished showroom with bright lights and music. It’s a bit cramped sometimes when we get a new shipment in, and boxes might be stacked up in the corners. I spend a lot of time on the phone or talking to people who walk in off the street. The ground floor is handy because we don't have to carry heavy tiles up any stairs. My desk is usually covered in receipts and scraps of paper with measurements written on them. We try to keep the place clean but with the dust from the road and the constant movement, it’s a bit of a battle. Jaydeep Tower is an older building, so it has that lived-in feel. It’s just me and a couple of others most days, making sure everything is where it should be. We just keep our heads down and work. It isn't always perfect, but we get things moved and shipped out.
