Bansi Inn Restaurant

Our restaurant is located right inside the Bansi Inn Hotel which is part of that old flour mill compound in Raipur. Since we are beside the Mahipatram Ashram, we get a mix of people coming in for a meal. Some are staying at the hotel upstairs and others just walk in from the street outside Raipur Gate. The kitchen is always going from morning until night. We serve mostly local food that people around here like to eat every day. It is not a very quiet place because of where we are located in Ahmedabad but we are used to the noise by now. The tables are basic and we keep them clean as people finish their lunch or dinner. We have a small group of cooks who have their own way of doing things. It is a bit of a tight space when it is full but we manage to get the orders out. We don't really go for anything fancy here. It is just about sitting down and having something to eat before moving on with your day. Usually, the lunch hour is the most chaotic time. We see the same faces quite often since people working nearby come in regularly. It feels like a neighborhood spot despite being in such a busy industrial kind of area. We just keep the stove burning and make sure there is enough tea and food for whoever walks through the door.
