You’ll find us on the 2nd floor of the Shalin Building. We are right near the Nehru Bridge corner on Ashram Road. It’s a busy spot in the city, so there’s always something happening right outside our window. We are a part of the Jayantilal Premchand Group, but here at the office, it feels more like a small team just trying to keep up with the cotton trade. We spend a lot of time on the phone and looking at samples. The office is usually piled high with paperwork and bits of cotton fluff. We aren't the type of place with shiny floors or modern art on the walls. It’s a working office. We deal with farmers and traders and everyone in between. Some days it’s hectic with the bridge traffic and the phones ringing non-stop. We just try to stay level-headed and get the numbers right. Ashram Road is a convenient location, even if it gets loud. We’ve been in this building for quite a while, so we’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years. We just keep doing what we’ve always done, which is moving cotton and making sure the contracts are settled. There isn't any secret to it. Just hard work and showing up every morning. We have a big old desk that takes up half the room, covered in ledgers and pens. It’s where most of the decisions happen. We don't go in for fancy computer programs if a simple notebook will do. The windows are usually a bit grimy from the street dust.
