Arvindbhai Kalyanbhai Textiles is located at No. 148 in the New Cloth Market. Even though it's called the "New" market, it's been around for a while now. Our shop is right in the thick of things. It’s a large area with hundreds of businesses, but we’ve carved out our little corner at 148. The atmosphere here is always energetic. You’ve got porters carrying heavy bales of cloth on their shoulders and merchants haggling over prices. Our space is pretty packed with textiles from floor to ceiling. We don't have much room for a fancy sitting area, so if you come by, you’ll probably find us standing or sitting on a stool near the counter. We’ve been part of this market community for years. We know the guys in the next shop and we often help each other out if someone needs a hand with a heavy load. It’s a practical way of working. We don't use big words or try to impress anyone. We just know our fabrics and we know our customers. The lights can be a bit dim in some corners of the shop, and there’s always a bit of lint in the air, but that’s just how it is in the cloth trade. We keep things simple and just focus on the task at hand each day. You get used to the noise and the constant movement after a while.
