Amit Textiles Ahmedabad

Our place, Amit Textiles Ahmedabad, is located at D-104 on the first floor of the Shree Ghantkarna Mahavir Commercial Market. Being right near the New Cloth Market means there is always a lot of movement around us. You can hear the sounds of trucks unloading and people shouting from early morning until late at night. Our shop is up one flight of stairs. It is a standard market unit, nothing too special to look at, but it works for what we do. We have shelves lining the walls filled with different types of textiles. Sometimes it gets a bit crowded when new stock arrives and we have to find a place for everything. The commercial market is a maze if you are not familiar with it, but D-104 is in a decent spot once you find the right block. We spend our hours here talking to visitors and making sure the fabric is sorted out properly. It gets quite warm in the afternoons, so the ceiling fans are always humming in the background. We have been in this market for a while now and know most of the people working in the neighboring units. It is a community of sorts. We just focus on our daily routine, keeping track of the inventory and making sure the shop is ready for the next day. It is hard work and the days are long, but it is what we know how to do.
