Ashok Lodge

Our lodge is right on Gita Mandir Road, very close to the ST stand. If you are standing opposite the S.T Sand, you can see our building easily. It is called Ashok Lodge. We have been here for a good many years now. The location is very busy because of the bus station, so there is always noise from the horns and people shouting outside. Our rooms are just basic. We provide a bed, a fan, and a small bathroom. It’s not the kind of place you come to for a luxury holiday. Most of our guests are people traveling for work or families who just need a place to sleep for a few hours before their next bus leaves. I spend my whole day at the front desk. The floor is old tiles and we sweep it twice a day because of all the dust from the road. Sometimes the water heater takes a while to start, and guests complain, but we do our best to fix things. We don't have a kitchen, but there are plenty of small stalls nearby where you can get tea and snacks. It’s a simple business. My father started it and now I look after it. We don't do any big advertising. If someone needs a cheap room, they find us. We don't have elevators, so people have to use the stairs. It keeps us moving. The curtains are a bit old and the paint is fading on the doors, but it’s a roof over your head.
