Ashok Hall Decorators

We have been running Ashok Hall Decorators for a long time now. Our shop is located at 12 Yogesh Society, which is right behind the Lala Kaka Hall near Shahpur Gate in the Shahpur area. It is a bit of a tight spot to find if you aren't from around here, but most of the locals know where we are. We mainly spend our days putting up decorations for weddings, birthdays, and other small family functions. It involves a lot of lifting heavy pipes, carrying bundles of cloth, and arranging flowers. My cousin helps me with the bookings while a few boys handle the actual setup at the venues. We don't have any fancy brochures or a website to show off. Usually, people just come by the shop, sit down on the plastic chairs, and tell us what they need. We have some old photo albums of past jobs if someone wants to see our work. Shahpur can be very crowded and the traffic is a headache when we're trying to move the truck. Sometimes the wind blows the tents around and we have to go back and fix everything in the middle of the night. It's not an easy job and your hands get dirty from all the ropes and dusty fabric. We just try to get the work done on time so the party can start. We’ve stayed in the same spot for years because the rent is okay. It’s just how we make a living.
