You can find us at C-92 in the Satellite Centre here in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This part of town is always moving, and we at Ambuja Cements Ltd. try to keep up with the pace. The office isn't very large, and it’s mostly filled with stacks of paperwork and some samples. We deal with a lot of different people every day, from big builders to folks just doing a small repair on their house. The dust is something you just live with in the cement business. No matter how much you sweep, there’s always a thin layer on the desks by noon. We don’t bother with fancy talk or corporate jargon. If you ask a question, we give you a straight answer based on what’s in the yard. The traffic in Satellite can be tough, so we spend a lot of time coordinating with drivers to make sure they aren't stuck on the ring road for hours. It’s a lot of logistics and common sense. We drink a lot of water and try to keep the fans pointed at us during the heat of the day. Our team is small, and we’ve all done every job here at some point, from loading to billing. We don't have a mission statement hanging on the wall; we just have a schedule we try to stick to. It’s regular, everyday work that keeps the city growing, and we are just glad to be a small part of that every day.
