If you’re looking for us, we’re based at Sorab Villa, which is right near Popular House on Ashram Road. Ashram Road is one of those places that’s always moving, but our spot in the villa feels a bit more settled. It’s an older building with some character to it, definitely not like those glass boxes you see everywhere now. We’ve been operating out of here as Acon for a long time. The rooms are high-ceilinged and keep fairly cool, even when the Ahmedabad sun is beating down outside. We do our work here quietly. It’s mostly just office stuff and some technical tasks depending on what’s needed that day. We don’t have a fancy lobby or a receptionist in a uniform. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us at a desk or tinkering with something. It feels a bit like a family house sometimes because of the layout, but we definitely get the work done. The area around us is full of activity, with shops and banks everywhere, so we’re right in the thick of things. We like being centrally located like this. It makes it easy for people to drop by. We don’t put on any airs about what we do. We just show up every morning, open the windows to let the breeze in, and get on with the day’s business. It is a steady pace, and we have no plans of changing how we do things or moving from this old villa.
