Vimal Guar Gum Mills

Right over at E-377 in Basni Phase II, that’s where our mill is located. It’s just down the way from some of the other mills in the M. I. A. district of Jodhpur. Working here means dealing with a lot of guar seeds and the fine powder that comes from them. It gets everywhere—on your clothes, in your hair, and on the floor. We don't mind it much though. It’s just part of the daily grind. The machinery is old but it works fine for what we need. We spend our hours monitoring the output and making sure the bags are stacked correctly in the warehouse area. It’s not a place for people who like to stay perfectly clean. We’re just a local crew doing the work. Sometimes we stand out by the gate to catch a bit of a breeze because it gets quite stuffy inside near the motors. We don't have a fancy philosophy about what we do. We just make sure the mill stays running and the product is good enough to send out. The neighborhood is full of similar businesses, so we all know each other. It’s a community of workers. We don't use big words or try to act like we’re more than what we are. We’re just the people at E-377 getting the job done day after day.
