Hira Daal Mill

We have been running Hira Daal Mill here near Chawla Chowk for quite some time now. You can find us right by Jodha Ram Gate in the Madhav Nagar area. It is a busy spot but we like it. Most days we are just busy with the machines and making sure the lentils are cleaned and sorted the right way. It gets a bit dusty inside sometimes, but that is just part of the work when you are milling daal. We handle different types of pulses and people from the neighborhood often stop by. The mill is not fancy or anything like that. It is just a workspace where we get things done. My father started things here and now we just keep it going as best as we can. We usually start early in the morning when the air is still cool. The machinery makes a lot of noise throughout the day so talking over it can be hard. We keep a small office in the front to deal with orders and visitors. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is annoying, but we manage. If you are looking for us, just head toward the gate and ask anyone near the chowk. We don't really do big advertising or have a big sign, mostly because everyone around here already knows where the mill sits. It is honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday.
