Sugan Dall Mill

Working at the 14-B spot in the Heavy Industrial Area means you get used to the sound of machinery pretty fast. Sugan Dall Mill isn't a quiet place, but that’s how a mill should be. There is always a bit of dust in the air from the grain, and the trucks come in early to drop off the raw stuff. Most of us here know the machines by their sounds now. If something clanks wrong, we notice it right away. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting sacks and watching the grinders. My hands are usually a bit rough by the end of the shift. We aren’t a huge corporation with a glass building. We’re just a mill down in a busy part of town where the roads are a bit bumpy. Lunch usually happens sitting on whatever is nearby, talking about the weather or the traffic coming into the industrial area. We make sure the dall is processed right because that’s the whole point of being here. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait around, which is just part of the job. It is a simple operation really. We take in the raw stuff, run the machines, and fill the bags. It keeps us on our feet. The days go by fast when the orders are high and the weather stays decent. We’ve been at this for years and don't plan on changing how we do things much.
