Funmeal India

Down at E-510 in Basni Second Phase, that’s where Funmeal India is set up. It’s an industrial part of town, so you’ve got a lot of factories and workshops all around us. The sun hits this building pretty hard in the afternoon, so it stays warm inside even after the sun goes down. We have a lot of floor space for the machines and the packing area. It’s not a place for suits and ties. Most of us are in old t-shirts and trousers because the work is a bit messy. There’s always a fine layer of flour or something similar on the surfaces, no matter how much we clean. We don't have a big HR department or anyone to write fancy letters for us. We just communicate by talking across the room. The rhythm of the place depends on the orders we have. Some weeks are quiet and we spend time fixing the machinery, other weeks we are working late into the night just to keep up. We have a small area where we keep our lunch boxes. The water cooler is usually the most popular spot in the building. It’s just a group of people working hard in a hot environment. We don’t make a big deal out of what we do. We just make the food and send it out to the shops. It’s a simple life for everyone here.
