Satish Halwai And Keters is right on Najafgarh Road, situated just in front of the Panchayat Ghar. It’s a very easy place to find if you’re in the area. We’ve been doing this for a long time, both running the shop and going out for catering jobs. The shop is always full of different things we’ve made that day. Being across from the Panchayat Ghar means we see a lot of people coming and going for different meetings and events. We do a lot of the traditional stuff you’d expect from a halwai. In the mornings, we are busy making fresh batches of everything. When we have a catering gig, the whole place gets even more chaotic with people packing up large containers and loading them onto the trucks. It’s a family-run kind of thing. We don’t really care much for being fancy or using modern marketing. We just care about doing the work properly and keeping the food fresh. Our staff has been with us for years and they know how things should be done. Sometimes we are working through the night if there is a big wedding or a function the next day. It’s a lot of manual labor and standing over hot vats, but it’s what we do. We just take it one day at a time here on Najafgarh Road. People know they can rely on us for their family functions without any fuss. We just keep our heads down and cook.
