Pooja Namkeen

We are out here at Plot No. 586/84 in Mundka. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it’s mostly industrial and can get pretty dusty. We make namkeen, so the smell of spices and fried snacks is usually hanging in the air around the plot. It’s a busy environment. We have people working on the frying, others on the packing, and then there’s the loading of the trucks. It’s not a quiet place. There is always the sound of machines or someone shouting over the noise to get a message across. We don’t have a fancy showroom. Everything is about the production and getting the snacks out to the shops. The floor is usually covered in bags and crates. We’ve been doing this for a while, and the routine doesn’t change much from Monday to Saturday. Sometimes the heat in the kitchen area gets to be a lot, but we have our fans going and everyone just pushes through. We aren't trying to be the biggest name out there, we just want to make sure the snacks are made right and sent out on time. It’s a lot of physical work and staying on your feet all day. We drink a lot of tea to keep going. It is a simple setup, but it’s ours and we know every corner of this plot. That’s just life at Pooja Namkeen.
