Vimal Sweet Corner

We are located at Y/838, right opposite the government school in Nangloi. Being across from a school means our days are timed by the bell. When the kids come out, the whole front of the shop gets crowded and noisy, which is something we have just gotten used to over the years. We start very early, usually while it is still dark, to get the milk boiling and the sugar syrups ready. There is always a lot of heavy lifting with the big kadhais and sacks of flour. The smell of frying stays on your clothes long after you go home. It is hard work, especially when the heat from the stoves hits the summer sun outside. We keep the counters wiped down as much as we can, but with so many people coming in and out, it is a constant battle. The shop isn't very big, so we have to be smart about where we stack the boxes and trays. Sometimes the delivery truck gets stuck in the Nangloi traffic, and we have to carry the crates by hand from the main road. It’s a local spot where people stop by for a quick bite or to take something home for their families. We don't do anything fancy, just the same recipes we have been using for a long time. It is just a regular life of sweets and snacks, and we are fine with that.
