About New Bakery Machines – Industrial Plant & Machines in West Delhi
Our place, New Bakery Machines, is in Matiala Extension Part No. 1, down one of those lanes that can be hard to find if you aren't looking for Rz, B-36. It’s part of the sprawl in this part of town. We have a lot of heavy metal equipment sitting around—mostly big ovens, dough mixers, and slicers. Everything smells a bit like oil and old metal. We spend the morning cleaning parts or trying to put together a machine for a customer. It's heavy work, and we often have to use a trolley to move things across the uneven floor. The walls are covered in wrenches and spare belts. We aren't bakers ourselves, but we know these machines inside and out. People come to us when their old mixer gives up or when they want to start a small bread shop. We have a lot of conversations over tea about gears and motors. The light in the workshop isn't the best, so we use some portable lamps when we're doing the fine tuning. It’s a bit cluttered with crates and half-finished projects. Sometimes we get a bit of flour on us from testing out a refurbished unit. It’s just the way it goes here. We close up when the sun goes down because the street lighting isn't great. We’ve been here for a while and the landlord is a nice guy who lets us use the extra space outside for loading.
