Glamour Shoes Pvt. Ltd. is based in the Swarna Park Industrial Area, over in Mundka. It’s an area full of factories, so there is always a lot of movement. If you walk into our place, you’ll see piles of soles and cut leather or fabric everywhere. The machines make a constant rhythmic thumping noise that you get used to after a while. We aren't a big fancy showroom; we are a factory where things actually get made. Our workers are mostly local people who have been doing this for years. We usually have a quick meeting in the morning to talk about which orders need to be finished first. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we all have to wait for the repairman to show up, which can take hours. The floors are concrete and there is always a bit of dust from the materials. We spend our time looking at stitch lines and making sure the glue holds. Mundka can be a tough place to get to when it rains because the roads get messy, but the work doesn't stop. We have some fans running to keep the air moving, but it still gets warm when the machines have been on all day. There is a small space for the supervisors to sit, but mostly everyone is on their feet. We produce a lot of pairs every week, and seeing the boxes stacked up ready for the trucks is the best part of the day.
