We’ve been here at D-17 in the Udyognagar Industrial Area for a while now. If you know the Peeragarhi Chowk area, it’s always busy with traffic and people moving around. That’s just how it is here. Inside our place, it is mostly about getting the footwear ready. There are machines running, people cutting materials, and boxes stacked up near the door. It gets a bit noisy during the day, but everyone knows their job. Some of us have been working here for years and we just get on with things. It isn't a fancy office or anything like that. Just a regular workplace where we make sure the shoes are packed right. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that is when we take a small break. The weather gets really hot in the summer, so we keep the fans going all day. Dealing with deliveries is probably the most stressful part because the trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow lanes around the industrial area. We try to keep things organized but with so much stock coming in and out, it can get a bit messy. It’s a lot of manual work and staying on your feet. We don’t really do much advertising or anything. People just know us because we’ve stayed in this spot near the chowk. It’s a practical way of living and working. Every day is pretty much the same routine of checking the soles and making sure the glue is set.
