If you’ve ever been stuck in traffic on Main Rohtak Road near Peera Garhi, you’ve probably passed right by us. We are located at J-20 in Udyog Nagar. It’s a tight spot, typical for this part of Delhi. Asian Footweas Pvt.Ltd. has been operating out of this building for quite some time. The neighborhood is full of other small factories and warehouses, so there is always a lot of loading and unloading going on. Our daily life involves a lot of noise from the road and the sound of our own production lines. We make shoes, mostly for everyday use. There’s no secret to it, just picking out the right materials and putting them together properly. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we’ve become a bit of a community over time. We share lunch and talk about the local news while the machines take a rest. It’s not the most glamorous work, but it’s steady. Sometimes it gets crowded inside when we have a lot of stock ready to go, and you have to dodge boxes just to get to the back office. We don’t have a big corporate feel at all. It’s more like a large family workshop where everyone knows their job. We just want to make sure the footwear we send out is worth the money people pay. That’s what keeps us going day after day in Udyog Nagar. It is hard work, but we like it.
