Mats Industries

Mats Industries is tucked away at J-190 in Vishnu Garden. If you know the area, you know it’s a mix of homes and small workshops. We’ve been in this building for several years. The floor is concrete and always has a bit of dust on it, no matter how much we sweep. We make different kinds of mats and industrial coverings. It’s a heavy job. The machines are loud and they take up most of the space. We have a small crew, mostly guys from the local neighborhood. We don’t use those big words you see in business magazines. We just talk about what needs to be done today. Sometimes the material doesn't arrive on time, and we have to shuffle the schedule around. That's just how it goes when you’re running a small operation. We have a small desk for the paperwork, but it’s usually buried under samples. Our sign outside is a bit faded from the sun, but people still find us. We don't do a lot of advertising. Most of our work comes from people telling their friends about us. We drink a lot of tea during the afternoon break and talk about the news or the weather. It’s a steady life. We show up, run the machines, pack the orders, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s not fancy, but it works for us.
