Kumar Sweets

If you walk through Jwala Heri Mkt in Paschim Vihar, you will find us at Shop No 4 in Ram House. We are Kumar Sweets, and we have been a part of this market for a long time. The shop opens early because we have to get everything ready before the morning rush. The smell of sugar and frying dough fills the air around Ram House before most people are even awake. It is a small shop, so things can get a bit cramped when we have a lot of customers standing at the counter. We have glass cases filled with whatever we have made fresh that day. I usually have flour on my apron by noon, and the kitchen in the back is always humming with activity. People from all over Paschim Vihar come by, some for just a quick snack and others to get things for their families. We have a few small tables, but most people just stand and eat while they chat. Shop No 4 is our whole world during the day. We don't do anything fancy with the decor; it is just a plain shop with good food. When the market gets busy in the evening, the noise from the shoppers is constant. We just keep serving and making sure the trays are full. It is a lot of standing, but we like being in the middle of the market.
