Goodwill Rubber Industries

We’ve been here at C-50 in Mayapuri Phase-Ii for a long time now. If you walk into our place, the first thing you notice is the smell of rubber. It’s a strong scent that sticks to your clothes, but we don’t mind it much anymore. Most days start early with the machines warming up. We spend a lot of time just making sure everything is running right. Dealing with rubber parts means things can get pretty messy, and there’s always some dust on the floor or grease on someone’s hands. It is hard work, mostly standing on your feet and moving heavy stuff around. We aren't a big fancy office with carpets or anything like that. It’s just a workshop where we get things done. Some of the guys have been working here since they were young. We know the neighbors around Mayapuri pretty well, and there’s always tea being passed around in the afternoon. Sometimes the power goes out or a machine gets stuck, and we just have to figure it out ourselves. It’s not always easy, especially when it gets hot in the summer, but we keep going. We don’t really do big advertisements or anything. People usually just find us by walking through the industrial area or asking someone nearby. It is a simple way of doing things, but it works for us here. We just focus on the rubber and making sure the orders go out when they should.
