Goel Namkeen Corner

Over in Karampura at E 133, you will find Goel Namkeen Corner. Our main work involves frying and mixing different types of savory snacks. The smell of oil and spices is everywhere in the shop. We start the fryers early in the morning so the snacks can cool down before we bag them up. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy sacks of flour and moving big containers around. The floor can get a bit slippery if we aren't careful, so we are always sweeping. Our customers are mostly people from the nearby houses who want something to eat with their tea. We don't have a marketing team or anything like that. We just put the namkeen in the glass displays and people pick what they want. E 133 is a straightforward address in a residential part of Karampura. It is a family-run kind of vibe where everyone knows their job. Sometimes the heat from the large pans is almost too much, but you get used to it after a few years. We keep the recipes the same because that’s what people ask for. There are no fancy labels here, just clear bags and honest ingredients. We’ve been at this for a while and don't plan on changing the way we fry our snacks anytime soon. It’s just what we do to earn a living in this neighborhood. We open up early and stay until the bags are filled. That's our life here.
