If you walk into the industrial area here in Kirti Nagar, you’ll probably hear our machines before you see us. We are tucked away at 5/14. The shop is always a bit of a mess with paper scraps and ink cans everywhere. I’ve tried to keep it clean, but in the printing business, that’s almost impossible. D. N. Offset Printers has been my life for many years now. The machines are old, and they need a lot of looking after, but they still get the job done. My hands are usually stained with blue or black ink by lunchtime. We do a lot of forms, flyers, and whatever else people in the neighborhood need printed. It gets very hot in the summer with the machines running all day long. I usually have a fan pointed right at me, but it doesn't do much. Sometimes a job goes wrong and we have to start over, which is frustrating, but that’s part of the trade. My son helps me out when he can, but mostly it's just me and a couple of guys who have been here forever. We don’t do anything fancy or digital. It’s all traditional offset work. People come in with their ideas, and we try to figure out how to put them on paper without spending too much. It’s loud, it’s dirty, and it’s a lot of work, but I wouldn’t know what else to do with my time if I wasn't here.
