D. J. Interiors

We’ve been at Mansorover Garden for quite some time now. Our shop is at C-28, right across from the fire brigade in Kirti Nagar. If you know this area, you know it’s the heart of the furniture market. D. J. Interiors is where we spend most of our waking hours. It’s not a fancy place with bright lights and a receptionist. It’s more of a workshop where there’s usually a bit of sawdust on the floor and the smell of wood glue in the air. We handle a lot of interior projects, mostly for regular homes in the neighborhood. My cousin takes care of the bills and I usually look after the guys on the site. It gets pretty loud during the day with all the cutting and hammering. The traffic near the fire station can be a real headache around five in the evening, but we’re used to it. We’ve seen many shops come and go on this street, but we’ve managed to stay put. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a social media person. Most of our work comes from people walking by or neighbors telling their friends about us. We try to be honest about how long a job will take. Sometimes things get delayed because the materials didn't arrive or someone got sick. That’s just life. We aren’t trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to do decent work and go home.
