Chinese Food Corner

You can find us at K 41 on Bal Udhyan Road in Uttam Nagar. We call the place Chinese Food Corner. It is not a big restaurant, just a small setup where we do a lot of frying and tossing noodles in the wok. The heat from the burners is always there. We spend a lot of time prepping vegetables and making the sauces. The road outside is usually quite busy with rickshaws and people walking by. We have a few tables, but most people just take their food and go. The sound of the metal spatula hitting the wok is something you hear all day here. We get a lot of younger people and students who want something quick and spicy. We don't have a lot of help, so we are always moving from the stove to the counter and back. Sometimes we run out of gas and have to wait for the new cylinder to arrive. That is always a bit of a mess. It is a simple life of cooking and handing out plates. We don't have fancy menus or anything like that. Just a board with the names of the dishes. We stay open late into the evening because that is when Uttam Nagar really gets busy. It is greasy work but it is what we do. We just keep the burners lit and the oil hot.
