You can find us at 9A in Tilak Market, right here in Ramesh Nagar. This part of town is always busy, and our shop is right in the thick of it. We deal in all kinds of traditional sweets. The display cases stay pretty full most of the day, though we sell out of the popular stuff by the evening. It’s a family-run kind of thing. My uncle started it, and now we all just pitch in. The morning starts early here because the milk and sugar need to be prepped way before the customers arrive. It gets sticky and hot in the back room where we do the frying. We don’t have uniforms or anything, just plain clothes that usually end up with a bit of flour on them. People come in for a quick bite or to take a box of laddoos home for a family thing. We’ve seen kids grow up and start bringing their own kids here. The market is old and some of the tiles are chipped, but it has a lot of character. We don't spend money on fancy decorations. We’d rather just make sure the barfi tastes the way it’s supposed to. It’s a lot of manual labor, stirring big pots for hours. Sometimes we get the proportions slightly different, but that’s just how handmade food is. We're just a small part of the Ramesh Nagar neighborhood. It's nothing too special, just sweet things for local people.
