Santkrupa Farmer Producer Company Limited is based over in Vitholi, which is in the Manora area of Washim. If you are looking for the heart of our operation, it is at Sharad Sahebrao Patil’s place. He has been a part of this community forever, and his home is where we handle the company’s business. In Washim, the soil is our main asset, and everyone around here knows how much sweat goes into a single harvest. We started Santkrupa because we wanted a way for the local farmers in Vitholi to have more of a say in how their goods are sold. We are not professional businessmen with degrees; we are people who know how to grow things and handle the dirt. Our meetings are usually quite loud and full of different opinions, but that is just how it is when you have got a bunch of passionate farmers in one room. We focus on the basics like getting seeds, managing the crops through the dry spells, and finding a place to sell. It is a lot of practical stuff that doesn't sound very exciting but is everything to us. We are proud of being from Manora and we try to help our neighbors whenever we can. It is not a fancy setup, and we don’t have a marketing budget, but we have a lot of heart and a lot of shared history in these fields.
