Our group, Nandikeshwar Shetkari Producer Company Limited, runs out of Shivram Laxman Bhoyar’s house in Kanadi. It’s house number 24 if you're looking for us in the Washim district. We aren't some big business from the city with big ideas. We’re just local farmers who realized that trying to sell our stuff individually wasn't working out very well for anyone. Prices go up and down all the time, and usually, the small guy like us gets the short end of the stick. So we banded together. Most days you'll find us either in the fields or sitting on the porch at Shivram’s place talking about the crop yields. We deal with cotton, soy, and whatever else grows well in this particular soil. It’s a lot of physical labor and worrying about the monsoon every single year. We don't have a lot of money for big machines, so we share what we have between us. We started this because we wanted to have a bit more say in how our crops are handled after they leave the farm gates. It's not always easy to get everyone on the same page, but we're trying our best. The paperwork for the government is a total headache, but we manage it between the planting and the harvesting. We aren't here to make any grand claims. We just want to make sure the people in Kanadi can keep their farms running.
