Mahavidarbha Farmer Producer Company Limited is over in Wakad, which is part of the Risod area. We don't have a big city office because we are right where the farming actually happens. It's a post office address in Wakad and that's where we get together. This part of Vidarbha has seen a lot of ups and downs with the weather over the years. We are just a bunch of local farmers who felt it was better to be a company so we could buy things together and maybe get a better price when it's time to sell. It is hard work and the sun doesn't show any mercy during the summer months. We are usually out in the fields from dawn until it gets too dark to see much. We don't have marketing people or anyone to write fancy stories about us. We just know how to plant and how to harvest. Sometimes we meet up at a house in the village to talk about what we're going to do next season. It is all very basic and practical for us. We care about our land and our crops because that is pretty much all we have. If the harvest is good then everyone is happy, and if it's bad we just have to try again next time. We are just regular people from Risod trying to keep our heads above water and support our local families here.
