Bhalnetra Seeds Farmer Producer Company Limited is based out of Arvind Keshavrao Deshmukh’s place in Karda. That is over in the Risod area, specifically near Po Mothegaon. We focus on seeds because that’s where everything begins on a farm. If the seeds are bad, the whole year is ruined, and nobody wants that. We are just a group of local people trying to make sure the quality is what it should be. The office is a quiet spot where we keep our records and store samples. It’s not a big factory or anything like that. We spend a lot of time talking to the growers and checking on how things are developing in the soil. Risod can be a tough place to farm sometimes, but we’ve lived here our whole lives, so we know the land. Arvind’s place is easy enough to find if you head toward Mothegaon. We don't have any fancy mission statements or slogans. We just want to provide decent seeds so people can have a good harvest. Sometimes the logistics of moving bags around can be a pain, especially when the roads are muddy from the rain. We just take it one day at a time. It’s a small team, and we all pitch in with the lifting and the paperwork. We are just regular people doing regular work for the community.
