Vkm Vidhyalaya is right there on the high road that connects Thindivanam to Pondicherry. If you are driving past Omandur in Villupuram, you will see our gate. It is a busy road with a lot of trucks passing by, so there is always a bit of noise from the traffic. We follow the CBSE curriculum, which keeps the students pretty busy with their textbooks and assignments. The building is a decent size, and we have got a mix of young and older teachers working here. It is not a fancy place with air conditioning in every room; we just use regular fans and keep the windows open for the breeze. The morning assembly is usually when things are the most organized before everyone heads off to their different rooms. We have students coming in from different parts of the Villupuram area, so the school vans are always on the move in the mornings. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to deal with it until it comes back on. That is just how it is around here. We spend a lot of time making sure the kids are actually studying and not just sitting around. There is always some grading to do or a meeting about the next set of exams. It feels like a very normal, everyday kind of place where people just come to do their jobs and the kids come to learn.
