Our small setup is right near the Someshwar Temple at No-257 in the Managuli Post area. If you walk past, you can usually hear the quiet sound of the silkworms eating the mulberry leaves. It’s a very specific sound that you get used to after a while. We spend most of our days gathering leaves and making sure the trays are clean. Sericulture isn't something you can just leave alone for a few days; it needs constant eyes on it. The temple is a good landmark for people trying to find us. We’ve been in this spot for a while now, and the building is a bit worn at the edges, but it serves our purpose well enough. The air inside is always kept a certain way for the worms. It’s a lot of repetitive work, moving trays and checking temperatures. We aren't a big company with many employees, just a few of us who know the routine. In the evenings, when it cools down, we usually sit outside and watch the people going to the temple. It’s a steady pace of life. We don't have any high-tech machines, just the old ways of doing things that seem to work best for us. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to scramble, but that’s just how it is living here. We just focus on the silk and the daily chores that never really seem to end.
