Asha Deep

Asha Deep is located at number 9 in the Maldahiya area of Varanasi. We are near Lajpat Nagar and the Kamachha Chungi junction. It’s a very old part of the city, so the streets are narrow and always crowded with people and rickshaws. Our building has been here for quite some time. It’s not one of those modern, glass-fronted offices you see in the newer parts of town. Inside, it’s a bit cramped, but we manage. We’ve got old wooden desks and chairs that have seen better days. It feels lived-in, which some people seem to like. We deal with a lot of the local families who have lived in Maldahiya for generations. It’s a busy place, and there’s always someone coming in to ask a question or drop off some papers. We don’t really have a receptionist in a uniform; it’s usually just one of us sitting at the front. The noise from the Chungi outside never really stops, so we’ve learned to talk over it. We just do our work and don’t worry too much about being perfect. Some days the fans don't work right, or we run out of tea, but we just keep going. It’s a small operation, and we like it that way. We are just part of the neighborhood fabric here in Varanasi, doing what we’ve always done at our own pace. It's just a regular office for regular folks.
