Vaidehi Restaurant

Vaidehi Restaurant is over at 48, Sitaram Supermarket on Chani Road in Vadodara. We are right opposite the Prakruti Resort, near the Chhani Jakat Naka. It’s a good location because people coming into the city or going towards Chani see us easily. The supermarket area is always busy with people doing their shopping. We opened this restaurant because we wanted to have a place for local food. It’s a basic setup. We have tables and chairs that have seen a lot of use. The menu is mostly Gujarati and North Indian stuff. We don't do anything too complicated. Our staff is small, just a couple of cooks and a few boys to wait on tables. The pin code here is 390002. Being near the resort helps because sometimes their guests come over for a change of pace. We don't have air conditioning in the whole place, just fans mostly. It gets warm in the summer but that's just how it is in Vadodara. We’ve been here for several years. We see the same people every week, mostly families from the nearby colonies. We aren't looking to win any awards. We just want to make sure the food is decent and the plates are clean. It’s a regular job for us. We open the shutters in the morning and close up late at night. That's the way it goes at Vaidehi. We try to keep things simple for everyone who walks through the door to eat.
