Umesh Cloth Stores

We are located right near the bus stop on Gotri Road. Our shop, Umesh Cloth Stores, is on the second floor of the Srinivasa Mandiram building. It’s a convenient spot because people can just hop off the bus and come up to see us. The stairs are a bit steep, but once you’re up here, it’s a lot quieter than the street level. We have stacks of different fabrics piled up everywhere. It’s mostly cottons and synthetic blends that people use for everyday wear. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us and the cloth. We spend a lot of time measuring out meters for customers and cutting the fabric straight. Sometimes the scissors get blunt and we have to sharpen them on the spot. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit since we opened. New buildings have gone up, but we’re still here in the same spot. We like to keep things relaxed. If you want to browse, you can browse. We aren't going to follow you around the store. Most of our regulars are folks who live nearby and want something for a new shirt or a dress. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone is working hard. The shop gets a lot of natural light in the morning, which makes it a nice place to sit and drink a tea before the first customer arrives.
