Tikhi Mirch Family Restaurant

Our restaurant is on the first floor of the Trinity Complex, which is on the Gorwa Subhanpura Road. If you’re familiar with Vadodara, you probably know the Dashama Char Rasta—we’re right near that crossing. It’s a busy part of Subhanpura, with a lot of houses and other shops nearby. Being on the first floor means you have to walk up some stairs, but most people don’t seem to mind. We’ve been here at Tikhi Mirch for a while, serving the local families who live in the area. It’s a pretty simple setup. We have the usual tables and chairs, and nothing is too precious. We call it a family restaurant because that’s who mostly comes in—parents with their kids or groups of friends from the neighborhood. It gets quite noisy on Sunday nights, but that’s expected. Subhanpura is a good place to be; it feels like a real community. We know a lot of the people who come in because they live just a few blocks away. The kitchen is always busy, and there’s always the smell of spices in the air. We don’t have a big marketing plan or anything. We just put out the sign and wait for people to come in. It’s honest work, and we’ve built a decent life here in the Trinity Complex. We just take things one day at a time and try to keep everyone fed and satisfied.
