Stitch Mens Wear

You can find Stitch Mens Wear over at S/22 in the Tilak Avenue, which is part of the Ayurvedic Sacred Heart Shoping Complex on Ajwa Road. It’s a bit of a mouthful to say the whole address. Our shop is focused on clothes for men, and we’ve been in this building for a good number of years now. The space is filled with the smell of new fabric and the sound of sewing machines from the back. We have a small fitting area in the corner with a curtain that’s seen a bit of wear. It’s not a large place, so things can get a bit cramped when we have a few people in at once. We keep our thread and buttons in old plastic containers on the shelves. Sometimes we have to spend ten minutes looking for a specific shade of blue. The floor is a bit uneven in one spot, so we tell people to watch their step. We don't have a lot of help, so it’s usually just us doing everything from cleaning to helping customers. We have a small electric kettle for making tea during the slow hours in the afternoon. Most of the people who come in live in the neighborhood, so we end up chatting about the local news quite a bit. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of shop. We just try to get the measurements right and keep the machines running smoothly. That’s about all there is to it. We keep our eyes on the needles.
