Sasumaa Gujarati Thali Restaurant

Sasumaa Gujarati Thali Restaurant is on the Ground Floor of the Gokulesh Complex. We are in Alkapuri, Vadodara, 390007. Our place is near Ivory Terrace, which is a well-known landmark around here. Alkapuri is a nice area, and being on the ground floor makes it easy for everyone to just walk in. As the name suggests, we do Gujarati thalis. It’s a lot of different dishes served all at once on a big plate. Running a thali place is hard work because there are so many small bowls to fill and keep track of. The kitchen is always a bit chaotic with the steam and the pots clanging together. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just us and the cooks. We try to keep the dining area comfortable, though it can get a bit crowded during the Sunday rush. People in Vadodara seem to really like their thalis, so we stay pretty busy. The Gokulesh Complex is a good spot for us. We’ve got regulars who have been coming here since we first opened. Sometimes we make mistakes with an order, or a drink takes a bit too long to come out, but we always try to fix it. It’s just a local restaurant trying to serve decent food to our neighbors. We don’t try to be anything we’re not. It's just simple cooking and serving plates. Sometimes the AC acts up when it's really hot, but we manage.
