We've been at 901 Gotri Road for a good while now. It’s just us here, Sanjeev Joshi Architectural Consultancy, working on various building projects that come our way. Most days start with a lot of tea and looking over some old drawings that need updating. We don't have a big fancy lobby or a receptionist who greets you with a script. You usually just walk in and see someone hunched over a desk or arguing with a contractor on the phone. Architecture isn't always as glamorous as people think. It’s mostly about making things fit in the space we have and making sure the walls stay up. We spend quite a bit of time driving out to sites around town to see how things are actually looking on the ground. Sometimes the plans don't match what the guys are doing on-site, so we have to fix things on the fly. It's a bit messy sometimes, with paper rolls everywhere and coffee stains on the edges of blueprints, but that's how we work. People stop by to ask about building a new room or fixing up a shop. We just sit down, grab a pencil, and start sketching ideas out. It’s pretty straightforward work, really. No big corporate meetings here, just a lot of practical thinking and trying to get the dimensions right so the client doesn't end up with a door that won't open. It's what we do every day.
