Om Catereres

We are based in Vadodara, specifically at Lad Bhavan Hall on Captan Marg. Most people know the Kirti Stamb and Rajmahal Road area. We are right opposite the Polo Ground, which is a big landmark around here. Om Catereres is basically a family and a small staff who spend most of our time in the kitchen or planning menus. Cooking for a lot of people is a lot of work, and it usually starts very early in the morning. You can often smell the spices and the steam coming from our pots. We don't have a glossy brochure or a fancy website. Most people find us because they ate our food somewhere else and asked for our name. It’s a very hands-on job. We are often busy washing vegetables or checking the heat on the stoves. The road outside can get very crowded with traffic, especially during the wedding season, but we managed to get our supplies in and out. We've been at this address for a long time. The hall is where we do a lot of our thinking and organizing. It’s not a quiet job, there is always the sound of clinking plates and people talking. We don't try to be something we aren't. We just provide food and make sure there is enough for everyone. It is practical work that keeps us on our feet all day and we are okay with that.
