Mr Idli

We have three units over here in Pavan Complex, right on Jetalpur Road. It’s 101, 102, and 104. We're right across from the Pizza Inn, so if you can find that, you can find us. Alkapuri is a busy part of Vadodara, and there's always something going on. We specialize in idli, obviously. It’s a staple and people seem to never get tired of it. We make our batter fresh, which is why we have to start so early in the morning. Some days the steam in the kitchen gets really thick, and you can smell the fermented rice from the street. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture. The chairs are sturdy and the tables are meant for eating, not for looking at. We get all kinds of people, from businessmen in suits to college kids. It’s a good mix. We don't do much in the way of marketing. We just open the shutters and start cooking. Sometimes the sambar is a bit spicier than other days, depending on the chilies we got. That’s just how natural cooking goes. Our staff has been here for years, so they know how we like things done. We aren't a big chain or anything, just a local spot in the complex. If you're looking for a quick breakfast or a light dinner, we're usually around. It’s a basic setup but it works for us and our customers who keep coming back.
