If you head down to the GIDC Industrial Estate and look for Plot No. 260, that’s where you’ll find us at Durgesh Engineers. We aren’t hard to spot once you get into the right lane, though the signs around here can be a bit faded sometimes. Our workshop is a functional space where we handle all the day-to-day engineering tasks that come our way. It’s mostly metal shavings on the floor and the sound of tools running from early morning until we pack up for the evening. We have a few older lathes and some newer equipment squeezed in together, making the most of the floor space we have. The team here is small, just a handful of people who’ve picked up the trade over the years. We don't really do much in the way of advertising or anything like that because most folks around the estate already know what we do. It’s a noisy environment, but we’re used to it. On rainy days, the roof leaks a little in the corner, but we just move the benches and keep going. We don't pretend to be a high-tech corporate office; we're just a group of guys who enjoy working with our hands and making sure the parts we produce are solid. It’s a lot of physical work, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a job through from start to finish.
