Shree Vinayak Engineering Works

You can find us at Plot No. 128-b in the GIDC Industrial Estate. It’s a small corner of the estate where things are a bit quieter than on the main road. Shree Vinayak Engineering Works is basically just a workshop with some old machines and a lot of scrap metal lying around. We spend our days cutting, welding, and fixing things that people bring in for us. It gets quite loud inside when everything is running at once. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings, so we have to sweep it up every single evening before we lock up. We have a tiny office that’s mostly used for keeping the ledger and taking phone calls. The light in there isn't very good, but it's enough to see what we are doing on the desk. We’ve got a couple of guys who have been doing this for a long time and they can figure out how to fix almost anything that breaks. We don't bother with uniforms or anything like that, just whatever clothes we don't mind getting dirty with grease. There’s a lot of oil involved in what we do. The tea man comes around at ten and four, and that’s usually when we take a short break to sit down. It’s a steady kind of life, working with metal and tools all day. We aren't trying to be the biggest shop around, just trying to do our part and keep the work coming in. It’s just what we know how to do.
