Alpha Engineering Works

We are over at Plot No. 122 in the GIDC Industrial Estate. Alpha Engineering Works is the kind of place where you’re always going to find some grease on your hands. We have been working out of this same shed for quite a while now. The roof is made of corrugated sheets and you can hear the birds landing on it during the day. We have a few lathes and some drills that have been with us since the start. They’re old but they still work better than the new stuff sometimes. The floor has some cracks and oil stains, but that’s just how an engineering shop is supposed to look. We don’t really have a lobby or a waiting room. If someone comes to see us, they just walk right in and we talk over the noise of the machines. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate of the estate, so we usually bring our lunch and eat together in the small break area we made in the back. The sun comes through the side vents in the afternoon and lights up all the dust in the air. We keep a radio playing in the background, though you can’t always hear it over the noise of the drills. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but we don't mind it much. We just focus on what’s in front of us and try to do a decent job for everyone who comes by our way.
