Coolcare Refrigeration

If you walk into Plot No. 64 in the Gidc Ind. Estate, you will find us at Coolcare Refrigeration. Our workshop is usually full of old fridges and air conditioning units that people have brought in for repair. There are copper pipes and cooling fins scattered across the workbenches. We spend most of our time looking for leaks or topping up the gas in the systems. It is a bit ironic, but the workshop itself can get quite hot in the middle of the summer because we have the soldering torches going. We do a lot of testing to make sure the units are actually getting cold before we let them go back to the owners. Sometimes we have to go out to other sites to fix big walk-in coolers, but most of the work happens right here at Plot 64. We have a few shelves filled with compressors and spare fans that we have salvaged over the years. It is a practical business; people just want their food to stay cold and their rooms to be comfortable. We do not have a big reception area, just a counter where we write out the receipts by hand. The floor is concrete and stays pretty cool, which is nice. It is just us doing the daily work of fixing cooling machines and making sure they run like they are supposed to for another season.
