Kalyan Engineering Company

Kalyan Engineering Company sits over at C1/B 220/4 in the G.I.D.C. Industrial Estate in Waghodia. It’s a massive estate, and finding your way around the different sections can be a bit of a puzzle if you are new to it. Our shed is one of many in this row. We do a lot of engineering work, mostly involving metal and parts that people need for bigger machines. The floor is usually covered in some shavings or oil, no matter how much we sweep it up at the end of the shift. Waghodia is a bit out of the way, so it is a long commute for some of the guys, but the work is steady. We don’t have a big fancy sign or a reception area with coffee. If you walk in, you are likely to see someone in overalls or holding a wrench. It is a loud environment with the sounds of grinding and cutting going on all day long. We have had this spot for years and the walls have seen a lot of projects come and go. Dealing with the GIDC regulations and the logistics of getting materials in takes up a good chunk of the day. We just keep our heads down and handle whatever jobs are on the list for that week. It is a simple setup but it works for what we do. The summers are the hardest because the tin roof really holds the heat.
