Kalaghoda Restaurant

We are over here in Sayaji Ganj, right inside the Sayaji Hotel premises. If you know Vadodara, you know this part of town is always moving. Rajshree Cinema is just across from us, so there is always a crowd on the street. At Kalaghoda Restaurant, things get started early in the morning when the sun is barely up. We spend a lot of time just getting the tables sorted and making sure the kitchen is ready for the first few people who walk in. It’s not a big corporate place, just a regular restaurant where the fans hum all day and the smell of cooking stays in the air. Sometimes the traffic outside gets a bit loud, especially when a movie lets out at the cinema, but we are used to it by now. The staff here mostly lives nearby, so we all know the area well. We don't have fancy decorations or anything like that. It’s just wooden chairs and the usual stuff you see in a local eatery. Most of our regulars come from the hotel or the offices around Sayaji Ganj. They just want a place to sit for a bit and have a meal without any fuss. It's been like this for a while now. We keep the doors open and wait for whoever comes through. It's a simple life here in Vadodara, just keeping the plates moving and the floors clean enough for the next day to begin all over again.
