Jashn Banquets

Jashn Banquets is out at 896 Vadsar, which is a bit of a developing area in Vadodara. The hall is basically a big open space that we change around depending on what someone needs it for. One day it’s a birthday party with balloons everywhere, and the next it’s a small wedding with a lot of flowers. My brother and I handle most of the bookings ourselves. We don't have a fancy office, just a small desk near the entrance where we keep the calendar. The 390010 area is growing, so there are always new people stopping by to ask about prices. Most of our time is spent moving chairs or checking the lights. The floor needs a lot of mopping after a big party because people spill things, and that’s usually my job late at night. We have a small crew of local guys who come in to help with the heavy lifting when we have a big event. Sometimes the air conditioning plays up when it’s really hot outside, so we have to call the repairman in a hurry. It’s a practical business, nothing very glamorous about it. We just provide the space and let people have their gatherings. We’ve had some good times here, watching families celebrate. It’s a lot of manual labor, but we like being our own bosses. It’s just a simple banquet hall in a quiet part of town.
